Obiageli Ezekwesili, a former Minister of Education, stands firm against embracing the new national anthem endorsed by President Bola Tinubu.

In solidarity with activist Aisha Yesufu, Ezekwesili vocalized her dissent, asserting, “#NotMyNationalAnthem, as I’ve previously stated. I’ll steadfastly uphold #AriseOCompatriots as #MyNationalAnthem.”

She rebuked lawmakers and the President, citing constitutional breaches in the anthem’s adoption process. Ezekwesili adamantly refuses to partake in what she deems a disregard for constitutional principles, affirming, “Nigeria must adhere to its constitutional democracy.”
