Bella Disu, the executive vice-chairman of Globacom, made a nostalgic return to her alma mater, Vivian Fowler Memorial College, after 24 years to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8.

Accompanied by her best friend, whom she met at the school two decades ago, Mrs. Disu shared her journey and insights with the students, drawing inspiration from the resilience and empowerment symbolized by American singer Beyoncé.

Reflecting on her visit, Disu took to Instagram on Saturday night to express her sentiments, stating, “Yesterday, on #internationalwomensday, I returned to Vivian Fowler Memorial College after 24 years! Addressing the future women leaders was a moment to reflect on the values of kindness, curiosity, and tenacity that shaped me.”

She continued, “Sharing my journey from joining the school in SS2 to becoming a leader in various industries, I aimed to inspire these young girls to dream, grow, and aspire to leadership, embodying the day’s theme of investing in women.”

Disu emphasized the significance of investing in young girls as a crucial step towards fostering equality, diversity, and inclusion. She highlighted that empowering girls today lays the foundation for a brighter and more inclusive future for all women.
