The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has relocated controversial figure Bobrisky from the Ikoyi Correctional Center to the Kirikiri Maximum Correctional Centre in Lagos.
Bobrisky, known for his flamboyant lifestyle, was handed a six-month sentence on April 12 by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos for mishandling the naira.
Initially remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, the cross-dresser’s transfer to Kirikiri Maximum Correctional Centre was discreetly executed over the weekend, according to a source within the NCoS.
Speaking on the move, the official emphasized that it was done in adherence to procedural guidelines and for security considerations.
“The decision to transfer Bobrisky to Kirikiri was based on procedural requirements and security considerations,” the official stated. “Given the expansive nature of Kirikiri, it offers better facilities for his term of incarceration compared to the previous center.”
The relocation underscores the NCoS’s commitment to ensuring the safety and appropriate management of all inmates, regardless of their public profile.
