Grammy Award-winning singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has subtly critiqued Davido’s marriage, suggesting it may not be the ideal example to follow.
The comment came after an X.com user, #BadLieutenant, suggested on Saturday that Burna Boy should consider marriage and starting a family, pointing to Davido, affectionately called OBO, as a role model. The user tweeted, “Burna Boy, you should start planning for your future by getting married and starting a family. OBO has already set an example. You’re over 33 now, and you need to understand that you’re not getting any younger.”
Burna Boy responded, indicating his preference for his current lifestyle and hinting at Davido’s challenges. He replied, “Baba make I just dey as I dey abeg, u nor see wetin him dey face like dis?”
When another user, #RealDreylo, teased him about his response, Burna Boy questioned, “But between me and you, Shey na betta example the guy use?”
A third user, #SunOfOba, asked if Adekunle Gold’s marriage was a better example. Burna Boy affirmed, “Ehen! That’s what we’re praying for, bros.”
Davido is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with his ex-partner, Sophia Momodu, over the custody of their daughter. He recently married his longtime partner, Chioma, in a lavish ceremony in Lagos.
