Obiageli Ezekwesili, a former Minister of Education, stands firm against embracing the new national anthem endorsed by President Bola Tinubu.

In solidarity with activist Aisha Yesufu, Ezekwesili vocalized her dissent, asserting, “#NotMyNationalAnthem, as I’ve previously stated. I’ll steadfastly uphold #AriseOCompatriots as #MyNationalAnthem.”

She rebuked lawmakers and the President, citing constitutional breaches in the anthem’s adoption process. Ezekwesili adamantly refuses to partake in what she deems a disregard for constitutional principles, affirming, “Nigeria must adhere to its constitutional democracy.”

Her unwavering stance underscores her commitment to dissent against what she perceives as an unjust law, maintaining her refusal to embrace the anthem signed by President Tinubu.
