For Onakoya, his mission transcends personal achievement; it’s about empowering underprivileged children across Africa.
Expressing his motivation, he wrote, “Doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa without access to education.”
In addition to his record-breaking attempt, Onakoya has initiated a fundraiser with a lofty goal of $1 million.
“Our goal is to donate 1 million chess sets globally. To date we have secured 116,000 chess sets for global distribution, reaching over 25 countries,” he shared on the fundraising platform, Tiltify.
As Onakoya embarks on this remarkable journey, the support of Nigerians and global chess enthusiasts alike will undoubtedly fuel his determination to make a difference.
