– PDP Launches Grassroots Campaign Blitz for Edo 2024 Governorship Race
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to kick off an ambitious ward-to-ward campaign on July 25, marking the beginning of its push for victory in the upcoming September 2024 Edo State governorship election.
Rev. Olu Martins, Deputy Director-General of Media and Publicity for the Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council, unveiled the party’s strategic plan in a statement released Thursday. “Our ward tours will serve as a vital conduit to connect with our loyal supporters at the grassroots level,” Martins explained. “This initiative will allow us to effectively communicate the visionary programs of our candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie.”
The campaign’s primary objective is to disseminate the party’s message of prosperity to every corner of Edo State, ensuring no citizen is left behind in the pursuit of economic growth and development.
The campaign entourage will feature a star-studded lineup of party heavyweights, including PDP executives led by Tony Aziegbemi, alongside the party’s gubernatorial candidate. Matthew Iduoriyekewhen, the campaign council’s Director General, will also play a prominent role in the tour.
Martins expressed confidence in the PDP’s preparedness for the September 21st election, citing the party’s organizational prowess and the qualities of their candidate. “Asue Ighodalo’s forward-thinking approach, laser-like focus, and tireless work ethic set him apart as the ideal leader to guide Edo State into a prosperous future,” he asserted.
This grassroots campaign initiative underscores the PDP’s commitment to engaging directly with voters and highlights the party’s determination to secure victory in the hotly contested Edo gubernatorial race. As the political landscape heats up, all eyes will be on this ward-to-ward tour as a potential game-changer in the run-up to the September showdown.
