UK-based Nigerian woman, Pelumi Nubi, is embarking on a solo road trip from London to Lagos, commencing on January 30, 2024, with an anticipated arrival at the end of March.
This isn’t the first road journey for the 29-year-old travel content creator, having completed the Lagos-Ghana route twice, explored Namibia for two weeks, and driven from London to Lake Como, Italy.
By the age of 27, Nubi had already visited 77 countries, and her upcoming road trip spanning 17 nations over two months aims to fuel her passion for adventure, encourage fellow female solo travelers (especially black women), and challenge preconceived notions about travel possibilities.
She plans to traverse England, France, Spain, Morocco, West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, before reaching Lagos. Nubi, who saved for a year, intends to sleep in her car during the journey, with an estimated cost ranging between $15,000 and $20,000, covering transportation, accommodation, and essentials.
Additionally, she has sought collaboration and assistance from those willing to support her expedition.
