The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Philip Aivoji, has been released from captivity after being kidnapped on Thursday, January 25, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway by gunmen.
Aivoji, along with other party leaders, was abducted at the Ogere area of the expressway while returning from a PDP stakeholders’ zonal caucus meeting convened by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan.

The release of Mr. Aivoji was confirmed by Hakeem Amode, the publicity secretary of Lagos PDP, in a brief statement issued on Monday. Amode expressed gratitude for the prayers and concerns extended during Aivoji’s four-day ordeal, emphasizing the visible presence of God’s mercies throughout the challenging period.
