Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Transcorp Group Chairman Tony Elumelu, and Senator Ben Murray-Bruce were among the distinguished guests at a cocktail party held in Lagos on Thursday evening to honor Africa’s wealthiest individual, Aliko Dangote.
The event, organized by businessman Richie Shittu and entertainment promoter Cecil Hammond, brought together notable figures, including comedian Bovi, to celebrate Dangote’s recent achievement of commencing production at his refinery in January.
The refinery, commissioned in May 2023 by former President Muhammadu Buhari after facing years of delays, is situated in the Lekki area of Lagos State and is recognized as Africa’s largest oil refinery.
During the party, Senator Murray-Bruce expressed his honor at having met Dangote when the latter was the richest individual in the Apapa area of Lagos.
In a social media post on Friday, Murray-Bruce, the co-founder of Silverbird Group, shared his pleasure at attending the cocktail party and celebrating Dangote’s refinery inauguration. He mentioned that the event was graced by distinguished guests, including Governor Sanwo-Olu and Tony Elumelu.
Elumelu also took to Instagram Story to share a video and photos from the party, praising the hosts and commemorating the commencement of operations at the Dangote Refinery.
