Apostle Lawrence Achudume’s birthday bash in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, on April 15, was a star-studded affair with esteemed personalities gracing the occasion.
Among the notable attendees were a representative of the former Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel; Nigeria’s former ambassador to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Ishola; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; and the Osile of Okeona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso.
Also in attendance was the esteemed senior pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre, Mathew Ashimolowo.
Addressing the gathering, Ashimolowo expressed concern over the widening gap between the affluent and the underprivileged in the country, highlighting it as a potential threat to national stability.
The cleric emphasized the dire consequences of inflation and the devaluation of the naira, which have significantly impacted the purchasing power of the populace.
Ashimolowo remarked, “There is a looming crisis as poverty deepens and the disparities between the rich and the poor widen. Urgent government intervention is imperative to alleviate the suffering of the masses amidst hyperinflation and economic downturns.”
He further praised the celebrant, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, as an exemplar of humility and wisdom, attributing to him the qualities of a virtuous leader.
