Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, situated in the vibrant city of Wudil, Kano State, has taken decisive action following reports of alleged mistreatment of students by a member of its academic staff.
In a statement released by the university’s deputy registrar of information and public relations, Sa’idu Nayaya, on Wednesday, it was revealed that the institution acted swiftly upon witnessing a viral video depicting physical assault and corporal punishment inflicted on students within a lecture hall.
Nayaya affirmed that the university’s management promptly issued a query and suspended the implicated staff member, subsequently referring the matter to the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and necessary action.
“These measures have been taken expeditiously to address the situation and ensure justice,” Nayaya emphasized.
Furthermore, Nayaya reassured parents, guardians, and the public at large of the university’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and safety of its students. Any transgression against this principle, he emphasized, will be met with stern consequences.
He concluded by affirming the university’s dedication to maintaining a conducive learning environment conducive to the academic success and holistic development of its students.
