The late Ayuba Abdullahi, former deputy bursar of Kwara State University (KWASU) in Malete, has been laid to rest following his sudden demise.

Confirming the unfortunate news, Saeedat Aliyu, the acting director of University Relations, conveyed the solemn announcement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Thursday.

Abdullahi’s passing occurred on Wednesday evening, and his funeral proceedings, adhering to Islamic customs, took place the following morning. The community bid farewell to a respected figure whose contributions had left an indelible mark on the university and beyond.

Reports indicate that Abdullahi’s untimely death occurred shortly after he witnessed the intense extra time of the Nigeria versus South Africa semi-final match at the 2023 AFCON. Engrossed in the thrilling spectacle of the game, he felt unwell and sought assistance at a nearby sports center in the Sango area, near his residence.

Despite efforts to provide medical aid, Abdullahi’s condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to his tragic passing. The sudden loss of such a revered member of the community has left many in shock and mourning, highlighting the fragility of life and the unpredictability of fate.
