The Governor of Ogun State has designated Onasanya as the new Head of Service

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has given his nod to the appointment of Mr. Kehinde Onasanya as the state’s new Head of Service, marking a pivotal transition in the administrative landscape.

In an announcement made on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, the state government affirmed the ascendancy of Onasanya to this esteemed position.

Onasanya assumes the mantle from Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, who bows out gracefully after a distinguished tenure marked by remarkable service.

Prior to his elevation, Onasanya had been diligently serving as the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, showcasing his mettle and demonstrating remarkable leadership qualities.

Embarking on his civil service journey as an Information Officer at Grade Level 8 on December 2, 1993, Onasanya’s trajectory has been one of steady ascent, culminating in his appointment as Permanent Secretary on October 2, 2020.

Described as a consummate professional with a wealth of experience, Onasanya has carved a niche for himself as a distinguished media manager and an adept administrator. His membership in prestigious professional bodies such as the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and Associate Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations underscores his commitment to excellence.

Throughout his illustrious career, Onasanya has left an indelible mark, serving in various capacities within the civil service, including stints at the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, and the Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration.

His sterling contributions have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by the accolades he has received, including the esteemed Ogun State Award in May 2006 and recognition as the first runner-up the following year. Additionally, he was honored as the best reporter in the House of Assembly Category in 1999 by the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council.
