The remains of the former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, along with those of his wife, Chizoba, and their son, arrived in their hometown of Isiokpo, Rivers State, on Friday, for their final resting place.
Welcoming the departed souls, officials of the Ikwerre Local Government Council paid their respects as they received the bodies.
Wigwe, his wife, their son, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo, a former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash near the border town between California and Nevada in the United States on February 9.
The funeral proceedings for the Wigwe family commenced on Monday, March 4, 2024, marking a solemn tribute to their lives.
A wake will be held on Friday evening at the newly established Wigwe University in Isiokpo, beginning at 7 pm, providing an opportunity for friends, family, and well-wishers to pay their final respects.
The combined funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo, commencing at 10 am. Following the service, a private interment will take place immediately, as the community bids farewell to their beloved Wigwe family members.
