Report gathered by YEPS News confirms that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has reported the death of a teenager and two adult males following a building collapse at Northern Vulture Estate, Chevron Drive, Lagos.
In a statement on Wednesday, the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, disclosed that at least six individuals sustained serious injuries in the incident.
“A young boy, about 15 years old, and two adult males were recovered, confirmed dead, and subsequently bagged by emergency responders,” Oke-Osanyintolu stated.
The deceased victims were handed over to SEHMU officials, while six survivors received medical attention at the scene.
YEPS News reports that the collapsed structure, a two-storey building under construction, was completely demolished and brought to ground zero following the conclusion of the search and rescue operation.
The immediate cause of the collapse remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine what led to the tragic incident.
Earlier, LASEMA had confirmed the death of one adult male while reporting four injuries. However, the final casualty count has now risen to three fatalities.
