On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu, former President Muhammadu Buhari, and ex-Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd), were in attendance at the public presentation of a book authored by Buhari’s former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
The book, titled “Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015-2023),” was unveiled at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, with Tinubu serving as the special guest of honour.
This event marked the first public appearance of Buhari and Tinubu together since the transfer of power on May 29, 2023. General Gowon chaired the occasion, with General I.B.M Haruna as the co-chairman.
Accompanying Adesina’s book were five volumes of another work titled “Muhammadu Buhari, The Nigerian Legacy, 2015 to 2023.” The reviews for the five-volume book were conducted by Professor Eghosa Osaghae, the director-general of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, and Professor Kabiru Mayo, a political science professor.
Adesina’s book, on the other hand, was reviewed by Shola Oshunkeye, a former CNN Journalist of the Year.
The launch drew the presence of prominent politicians, including former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abass, former Senate President Ahmad Lawan, APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and President’s Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
Other attendees included Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, former minister of labour, employment and productivity Chris Ngige, former governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-rufai, businessman Mohammed Indimi, former minister of the FCT Mohammad Bello, former minister of aviation Hadi Sirika, and former minister of information, culture, and national orientation Lai Mohammed.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State, Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake, Minister of Steel Development Prince Sanusi Audu, and former Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola were also present at the launch.
