The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has corresponded with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) regarding an ongoing investigation into an alleged breach of the code of conduct for public officers.
In response to an invitation from the CCB for an interrogation session on Tuesday at the bureau’s headquarters in the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, at 11 am, Mr. Tunji-Ojo has written to the bureau. However, Veronica Kato, the spokesperson for CCB, informed PUNCH that the minister’s interrogation is being rescheduled for a later date due to his memo citing a national assignment.
Veronica Kato stated, “Yes, the minister’s interrogation has been rescheduled. He wrote, asking that it be rescheduled because he has a national assignment, so it has been rescheduled for a later date.”
Tunji-Ojo had previously stated that he ceased being a director in the company New Planet Projects in 2019. The company is presently reportedly under the management of his wife.
