Social media influencer, Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has disclosed that he has more compelling evidence to back up his claims regarding popular personality Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky. This follows a previous exposé in which Bobrisky allegedly confessed in a voice note to serving a private sentence instead of a prison term. VeryDarkMan also clarified that he has no intentions of defaming renowned human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, as has been speculated online.

In an Instagram post, VeryDarkMan hinted at releasing another revealing voice note from a different individual. He emphasized the need for a full investigation into the matter, stating, “I want a thorough investigation because names like EFCC, the Comptroller General of Prisons, Uncle Femi Falana, and Falz were mentioned. Only a deep investigation will reveal the truth.”

This follows Falana’s firm denial of any involvement with Bobrisky and his issuance of a 24-hour ultimatum demanding that VeryDarkMan retract the statements linking him to the situation.

The controversy ignited when VeryDarkMan shared a voice note allegedly from Bobrisky, where the socialite claimed that, after his conviction for abusing naira notes in April, his godfather, with help from the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private apartment. The voice note also purportedly mentioned that Bobrisky had been approached by rapper Falz and his father, Femi Falana, offering to help secure a government pardon for ₦10 million.

Falana’s legal team swiftly issued a letter demanding a retraction and apology, vehemently denying any such contact. The letter read: “We wish to state, without any fear of contradiction, that our client has never spoken to Bobrisky regarding any pardon or any other matter.”

In response to the letter, VeryDarkMan clarified that he never defamed Falana but only expressed disbelief regarding Bobrisky’s claims. “I have the utmost respect for Uncle Falana, SAN, not just because of his title but because of his commitment to fighting for justice and representing people like me who speak out against societal ills,” he explained.

He continued, “I never accused him of anything. I simply said I didn’t believe Bobrisky’s claims about a deal involving Uncle Falana and that if such were true, I would be deeply disappointed because of the respect I hold for him. My only aim is to push for an investigation to uncover the truth.”

VeryDarkMan reiterated his call for a detailed investigation, insisting that if Bobrisky falsely implicated Falana or any other high-profile individuals, legal consequences should follow. He concluded by reaffirming his respect for the SAN, stating, “Uncle Falana, I will never defame you, and I didn’t. I still respect and admire you 100%.”
