In a recent operation, the Ondo State Police Command apprehended Yusuf Adenoyin in Isua, the administrative center of Akoko South-East Local Government, for possessing eight human skulls.<\/p>\n

According to Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the State Police Public Relations Officer, the arrest occurred during a routine checkpoint inspection by officers from the Police Safer Highway Patrol stationed at the Isua\/Epinmi checkpoint on June 10, 2024. While searching a Nissan Salon car headed towards Akure, one of the passengers attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended by the police. Upon inspecting the suspect’s belongings, officers discovered eight dry human skulls, fresh human flesh, and various charms concealed in a polythene bag hidden within a garri sack.<\/p>\n

Yusuf Adenoyin, aged 31, confessed that he intended to deliver the items to herbalists and admitted to having supplied seven human skulls prior to his arrest.<\/p>\n

The police spokesperson confirmed an ongoing investigation to identify and apprehend any additional accomplices involved in this illicit activity.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Police Public Relations Officer disclosed the arrest of three other individuals\u2014Uche Onu, Ekene Okorie, and Celestine Eze\u2014linked to robbery incidents in Akure, the state capital. According to Odunlami, intelligence operations led to their capture, and all three have confessed to their involvement in the crimes.<\/p>\n

The suspects reportedly participated in the robbery of a Scania truck bearing registration number JJJ 701 YE, valued at N12,000, and 61 empty 50kg gas cylinders. During the robbery, a police constable sustained injuries.<\/p>\n

Further investigation revealed that Ekene Okorie, the driver of the stolen truck, assisted detectives in tracing Emmanuel Okike, who purchased the stolen gas cylinders at N36,000 each, totaling N2,256,000, which he transferred to the accounts of Tochukwu Obi and Desmond Orjiakor. The stolen truck was recovered in Benin City, Edo State, while all 61 gas cylinders were retrieved from Emmanuel Okike in Lagos State.<\/p>\n

Currently, Francis Okafor is detained at the SCID in Benin City in connection with another armed robbery case, while efforts are underway to apprehend Ezeego, who remains at large.<\/p>\n
