Father of Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Passes Away

Pa Suleiman Obasa, father of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa, passed away at the age of 83 in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Speaker announced the sad news in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, in Lagos on Tuesday.

Obasa described his father as a loving family man and a respected community leader. He highlighted his father’s successful ventures in the oil and gas and transportation sectors. Additionally, Pa Obasa was renowned for his achievements in farming, which enabled him to empower many people within the community.

“He was a devout Muslim who dedicated his life to the service of Allah and mankind, always taking care of the needy and less privileged,” Obasa stated.

The Speaker also mentioned that Pa Obasa’s remains would be interred at 4:00 p.m. in Agege, according to Islamic rites.
