Max Air Aircraft Suffers Tyre Burst in Kano, Passengers Evacuated Safely
A Max Air aircraft carrying 53 passengers, with registration number 5N-MBD, suffered a tyre burst late Tuesday night at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
Report gathered by YEPS News indicates that the incident occurred upon landing at 22:57 PM. The aircraft had earlier departed from Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos en route to Kano.
Despite the scare, all passengers onboard were safely evacuated without any injuries. However, sources suggest that the aircraft may have lost its nose landing gear tyre during touchdown, leading to the incident.
As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been released by the airline regarding the incident. Similarly, efforts to reach officials of the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau proved futile, as several calls and messages to the agency’s spokesperson went unanswered.
