Water and Garri, the movie Tiwa is currently promoting, holds special significance for her. Shot in picturesque Cape Coast, Ghana, the film’s title pays homage to Tiwa’s 2021 music EP of the same name. In addition to acting in the movie, Tiwa showcases her versatile talent by writing and performing its original soundtrack. Through her production company, Everything Savage, she also serves as an executive producer, adding her creative touch to every aspect of the project.
In Water and Garri, Tiwa portrays a fashion designer navigating her way through the complexities of life, grappling with unresolved guilt from her past as she returns to her roots in Africa.
