Actor Yemi Solade has stepped up to defend Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi against the barrage of criticism following Nigeria’s defeat to Cote d’Ivoire in the finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

In the tense showdown at the Alassane Quattara Olympic Stadium in Abidjan, the Eagles fell short, succumbing to a 2-1 loss against the Elephants, who clinched their third AFCON title.
